Guess what? The Giant Anole is one big anole!
They reach lengths of up to 18 inches. They are
green colored, with some light spots. They have a
small crest, and males have a dewlap. |
| Climate |
A temperature range of 80-85F during the days,
and 70F at night is suitable. Be sure to mist the
terrarium twice daily to maintain a suitable
humidity level. |
| Habitat |
A tall cage, with tall plants is the best choice
for this lizard. Make sure it has plenty of trees
of strong branches to climb on, hiding spots and a
basking area. |
| Feeding |
You can feed insects, such as crickets or
earthworms, as well as small mice. This anole will
not normally drink from a water bowl, so be sure
to provide drinking water by misting the plants in
the cage to provide drops to be licked. |
| Notes |
This is another aggressive lizard, they should
generally be kept alone unless you intend to breed
them. |
