They are light brown shell, with bright
markings. The males have red eyes. They grow up to
six inches from nose to tail. |
| Climate |
70F and above days, 60F nights. If the
temperature goes lower, they may hibernate. |
| Habitat |
Adults can be kept outside. These turtles are
found in the US, as far north as Maine. Young ones
should be kept in a terrarium with a basking lamp.
Be sure to provide a suitable hiding place. |
| Feeding |
Insects - crickets, worms, etc. Adults will also
eat fruits. Canned dog food is usually accepted.
Water will be taken from a shallow bowl. |
