Bearded Dragon

Species	Pogona vitticeps
Description	The bearded dragon is gray or brown, with a bushy "beard" of spines under it's chin. They can grow up to 20 inches long.
Climate	The bearded dragon should have a hot basking area that reaches 90F.
Habitat	An adult needs to be kept in a large enclosure, as they like to run. Four to five feet long is the minimum. Newspaper makes a good substrate, since it is easy to clean. Provide some rocks, clibming branches and a retreat or hiding area.
Feeding	Bearded dragons are omnivores. You can feed them salad (greens, carrots, etc.), fruits, flowers and insects such as crickets or mealworms. Adults can eat small pre-killed mice.

Notes	It is illegal to export bearded dragons from Australia. However, there are many breeders in North America who sell captive bred ones.
